Judge Julie Lynch
Hon. Julie M. Lynch is a judge for the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas (General Division) in Ohio. She was elected to the seat in 2004 and was re-elected in 2010 and 2016. Her judicial career has also included presiding as a judge for the Franklin County Municipal Court, a position for which she was elected in 2003.
Lynch received a B.A. from Ohio State University. She went on to complete a J.D. at Capital University Law School in 1993. After graduating from law school, Lynch began her legal career as an attorney in the law firm of Spencer & Ehrie, where she practiced for two years. Then, in 1995, she became an assistant attorney general with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, remaining in that capacity until being elected city attorney for the Whitehall City Attorney’s Office in 2000. Lynch was serving in that position at that time of her election to the Municipal Court in 2003.
She was also elected to the Whitehall City Council.
Lynch was a board member of the Columbus Association o Performing Arts and a volunteer at Art for Living.
She is a mother of four.
Lynch, a former longtime Republican, changed her party affiliation to Democrat in 2019.
